Imagine what it might be like to be born during a thunderstorm, metaphorically speaking. For a little boy in a small town in Germany, this was exactly the circumstances in which he was born. The clouds and thunder didn't dissipate after his birth unfortunately. They seemed to continue through much of his childhood.
